The Oakland University Police Department (OUPD) is investigating multiple larceny reports received over the last several days. The incidents have occurred in offices in a variety of buildings around campus. Items stolen have included cash and cell phones taken from unattended purses.
Several witnesses have described the suspect as a very thin black male in his 20’s, approximately 6 feet tall and with no facial hair. He has been seen wearing a black ball cap, brown pants and a jacket that possibly has an insignia on the chest. He has also been seen carrying a laptop computer bag.
All larcenies have occurred between 9 a.m. and noon.

Keep your purse, wallet, cell phone, keys, or other valuable items with you at all times, or locked in a drawer or closet even if you are leaving the area for a short period of time.
- If you plan to stay late in your office, make sure someone you trust knows where you are and when you plan to leave.
- Contact the OUPD to request a “Safe Walk” if you feel uncomfortable walking to your vehicle alone after hours.
- Be aware of your surroundings and report all suspicious activity to the police.
