Oakland University has declared that a snow emergency will take effect starting at 10 p.m. this evening, Sunday, February 11, and will continue through 6 a.m.on Monday, February 12.
To comply with University Policy 483, campus community members are advised that as of 10 p.m., all vehicles must be moved out of all main campus parking lots excluding the following:
- Ann V. Nicholson student apartments;
- Matthews Court student apartments; and
- the P-29 and P-32 parking structures. Please note that uppermost, uncovered levels of the parking structures must be cleared of vehicles to allow for plowing.
Vehicles that need to remain on campus overnight should be moved to the lots noted above. Vehicles left in any lot other than those noted above after 10 p.m. will be impounded at owners’ expense. Retrieval of vehicles will require payment of an impound fee, as well as possible storage fees.
The snow emergency declaration has been made independent of any decision to cancel classes or close the campus. At this time, there is no anticipation of class cancelations or campus closure on Monday.
