In order to accommodate the large number of campus community members and special guests celebrating the inauguration of President Ora Hirsch Pescovitz, a number of campus parking lot restrictions have been planned for Tuesday,
April 17, through Saturday, April 21.
The northeast half of the P-16 parking lot – located between O’Dowd Hall and the Fitzgerald, Anibal and Pryale Houses – will be closed beginning at 11 p.m. on Tuesday and continuing throughout the day on Saturday.
The southwest half of the P-16 parking lot will be reserved for handicap parking beginning at 11 p.m. on Thursday and continuing throughout the day on Friday.
A portion of the southern half of the P-1 parking lot – the University’s main lot adjacent to Squirrel Road – and the entire P-2 parking lot – located east of Wilson Hall and north of Oakland Center – will be closed beginning at 11 p.m. on Thursday and continuing throughout the day on Friday.
A small portion of the P-36 parking lot – located immediately south of Elliott Hall – will be reserved beginning at 11 p.m. on Wednesday and continuing throughout the day on Thursday.
Commuters accustomed to using these lots should plan ahead to use alternate lots. The patience and cooperation of campus community members is appreciated during major events that advance and promote Oakland University.
