From 2-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 30, the Oakland University Police Department will be working with a Roseville Police Department officer and K9 bomb detection dog at various locations on campus. This work is part of an effort to create a promotional video for the OUPD’s recently developed police K9 fundraising campaign.
The Roseville K9 unit, OUPD officers and Oakland University Video Services staff members will film in the following locations during the afternoon and early evening hours:
- Various parking lots across campus
- The Oakland Center Food Court
- The O’rena
- Other locations to be determined
Campus community members are advised that the Roseville K9 unit will not be on campus in connection with an active threat or emergency situation. Faculty, staff and students are also advised that the bomb detection dog is a working animal and should not be approached for purposes of social interaction.
University community members interested in the OUPD K9 public safety initiative or who would like to contribute to the fundraising effort are invited to visit the K-9 Fundraising Initiative website.
